Mission Overview

Government of the Islamic Repiublic of Afghanistan

To assist The Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GIRoA) in the development of efficient, integrated and sustainable border crossing points, inland customs depots, and international airport operations, to serve as a coordination link between the U.S. Embassy, International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and other international donors and contributors to border law enforcement and customs training.

A top priority is to increase the capability of the Afghan Border Authorities to enforce Afghan border law and subsequently increase revenue for GIRoA while reducing the flow of narcotics and materials used in making improvised explosive devices and other illegal goods and personnel crossing the Afghan border.
